Mono Masters

Mono Masters is the monaural version of Past Masters, as that collection was released on September 9, 2009 as part of the Beatles in Mono box set. This two-disc collection has an hour and forty minutes of Beatles' songs in their monaural versions, all taken from singles (both a- and b-sides) and from British-issue extended plays. The main difference between Mono Masters and Past Masters (besides the obvious choice of mono over stereo) is that some of the songs on disc two of Past Masters never had mono mixes, and hence do not appear in Mono Masters at all. They are: The Ballad of John and Yoko, Old Brown Shoe and Let It Be. On the other hand, some songs that had been released only in stereo had indeed been mixed also in mono, though no mono version has ever been made public. These heretofore unreleased mono mixes can be heard on Only a Northern Song, All Together Now, Hey Bulldog, It's All Too Much, and Across the Universe (original version).
