The Early Beatles
Capitol Records' sixth Beatles release in the North American market (March 22, 1965) was called The Early Beatles. It is considered a compilation album (rather than a studio album) because all of the tracks could be found on the first US release of the Beatles by Vee-Jay records, called Introducing…the Beatles. The album cover features the back cover photo from Beatles for Sale, a Parlophone release for the UK (December, 1964). It was an implicit recognition by Capitol that they had erred in initially declining to distribute the Beatles in the US. LP versions in mono and stereo were produced, and the disc also came out in CD as part of the Capitol Albums compilation in 2006.
