Beatles Around the World

Had a chance to visit the Acapulco, Mexico club B & B recently which is located on the remote side of Acapulco Bay. It was the worst club with the best view I have ever seen. On the wall at the entrance is a picture of The Beatles' Abbey Road cover - The Beatles are everywhere.

Beatles Quick Facts

Interesting and little known facts about the Beatles.

During the week of 4 April 1964, The Beatles held twelve positions on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, including the top five positions. Neither feat has been matched by any other artist to date. The songs were "Can't Buy Me Love" (Capitol Records), "Twist and Shout" (Tollie Records), "She Loves You" (Swan Records), "I Want to Hold Your Hand" (Capitol), and "Please Please Me" (Vee-Jay). Seven other singles also made the chart: "I Saw Her Standing There" (Capitol), "You Can't Do That" (Capitol), "All My Loving" (Capitol of Canada), "Roll Over Beethoven" (Capitol of Canada), "From Me To You" (Vee-Jay), "Do You Want To Know A Secret" (Vee-Jay) and "Thank You Girl" (Vee-Jay).

Beatle Bar - Jacó, Costa Rica

The Beatle Bar located in the Pacific coast town Jacó, Costa Rica. Holy Shit! I have to say to date, the most unexpected tribute to the Beatles I have encountered has to be the Beatle Bar located in the Pacific coast town Jacó, Costa Rica. How it became the Beatle Bar is beyond me other than the fact that the watering hole is dotted with pictures of the Beatles. The owner is obviously a big Beatles fan. That a bar boasts lots of Beatles pictures or even that it's called the Beatle Bar is not in and of itself unusual. What is unusual about it is that it is ground zero in the flesh trade on the entire Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. On a given Friday or Saturday night, hippies and tourists mingle with perhaps hundreds of Colombian, Dominican and other Central American girls "on the game". It has to be the oddest incarnation of the Beatles I have yet to see in this life or probably in any other. Something that has to be seen to be believed.
