"The Beatles' Movie Medley" was released as a single by Capitol Records in the U.S. simultaneously with the release of the compilation album Reel Music - an album that featured various Beatles tunes that appear the band's film releases A Hard Day's Night, Help!, Magical Mystery Tour, Yellow Submarine, and Let It Be.

Despite being nothing more than a compilation of clips clumsy strung together from seven Beatles songs, the release hit #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1982.

Originally considered too "tacky" to release by Parlophone, they quickly changed their tune after they saw the sales figures in the U.S. - it reached #10 on the British charts.

The medley includes, respectively:

  1. Magical Mystery Tour
  2. All You Need Is Love
  3. You've Got to Hide Your Love Away
  4. I Should Have Known Better
  5. A Hard Day's Night
  6. Ticket to Ride
  7. Get Back

The Beatles' Movie Medley is the only Beatles single that has not been released on CD. The release is noteworthy (besides for the willingness of Capitol, in particular, to promote a useless release) for the fact that people bought such a horrid little single en masse - it's testimony to how nostalgic the public had become for The Beatles and their music.
