Chuck Berry wrote Too Much Monkey Business and released it as a single in 1956. It was covered by Elvis and others, and became something of a rock and roll classic.

The Beatles started performing the song in 1960 and continued until after they made their record deal with EMI. On September 3, 1963 the Beatles performed Too Much Monkey Business for a BBC program, which came out on September 10. It was the 13th edition of Pop! Go the Beatles and can be heard on the collection, Live at the BBC. This It was the last of four recordings the group made for the BBC during 1963.

Too much monkey business for me to involve again
